On December 17th I received a text from a good friend of mine, Chris. He reached out to inquire about rates for what his girlfriend, Autumn, thought was a Holiday Session on December 21st. Chris then proceed to let me in on the little secret for the shoot, he was going to propose! Immediately I realized I had plans to leave out of town that day and I knew I had to change my plans to help him out. Upon reaching the beach Chris and I had conceived a plan to prompt him to pop the question. The game plan was to ask them to stand for some photos after we started with them sitting. The idea was for Chris to use this moment to stay on one knee as Autumn stood. As they where transitioning Chris stood straight up and then I knew he was really nervous. So we stalled a bit and took some photos standing up. Finally a huge gust of wind blew the sandman over and it was the perfect opportunity for Chris to get back down to his knee. It was perfect; Mother Nature came in with the assist. After a minute of firmly re-securing the sandman Chris did it! -and Autumn's reaction was priceless! With this being my last shoot of the year it was the perfect way to end it. With every end comes a new beginning, a new start, or a new journey. As we navigate life through all the things that get thrown our way those things become the stories in-between, the lessons learned, and the memories created. To me a proposal is "The End" of "I" and the beginning of "US". I look forward to working with all of my couples this year that are starting their "US" Chapter with the love of their life. I look forward to being part of your big day and having the please of capturing one of the biggest moments in your life. Thank you to all of the past couples (and future couples) for allowing me to be a part of your day. Cheers to the New Year and creating more memories!
